The girls were invited to donate shoes for the Shoeman Water Project or items for Our Lady's Inn maternity home as their "gift to Christy".

A Robin interview

Robin posted this interview on her Facebook page. I thought I would post the link here so the girls from the party can read it too. I just love that Robin likes Rich Mullins music! Robin's writing reminds me so much of Rich's songs because they both do such a beautiful job of describing God's Creation and His love for us. And of course it made me smile that both Awesome God and Sometimes By Step are referenced in Robin's books.

Things that made me smile

I went to the grocery store today to buy the food for our party. As I was walking into the store, I saw this yellow car with this license plate BBY HMR I am assuming that is short for "Baby Hummer". It made me smile so big to think that there was someone in the store who is a Katie fan! I was so tempted to write a note or something. For all I know, she was in there shopping for her own Christy party!



When I got home, the mail truck delivered the mail and in the box was our German Chocolate! The estimated delivery date was Aug 2, because it was coming all the way from Germany. But, I was holding out hope that it would still arrive in time because when I went back to the order page, it said the average delivery was 10-12 days, and that would give it time to get here for the party. And it did! Now, there will be some German chocolate in our international chocolate bag.

Sierra's Tie Skirt

Today, Alex, my mother and I worked on her tie skirt. We have been collecting ties from thrift stores, school sales, and family and finally found time to put together her tie skirt, like the one Sierra wore. It took a lot of time and work, but it came out really well! We love it! Alex plans to wear it to the party.

Getting ready for the party!

We are now a week away from our Christy Miller Birthday Party! We are so looking forward to celebrating with our fellow Peculiar Treasures! The invitations have all been sent and RSVP cards are starting to come in. We have our prizes all bagged up and ready to go. Cake decorations and party goods are ready. We have a beautiful beach backdrop for taking pictures at the party and costumes ready.

Games cards are all printed up, just waiting to add a few more questions that the girls write on their RSVP cards.

Next week we will buy refreshments and then PARTY!

Party Supplies

All packed up and waiting for party day! The big blue box holds our prize bags, party goods (plates, napkins, cups), cake decorations, goodie bags and our beach photo backdrop. The cardboard box holds our attendance prizes and some copies of a great purity story that we plan to hand out. Next to the boxes is our Gunnopoly box. It not only holds the pieces to Gunnopoly but the cards and cars for our Forever Friends Game. The big portfolio next to it holds our Forever Friends game board.

Goodie Bags

Buckets full of Goodie Bags

Our Goodie Bags include autographed bookplates, bookmarks and pamphlets sent by Robin. We also have "I Hold You in My Heart" bracelets, Sisterchick tattoos, Chai and Irish Breakfast tea bags, Terberlone Chocolate and some Italian candies and beach themed sticky notes. We also printed up cards with Tracy's "Garden of My Heart" poem and attatched some keys.
