This blog is the webpage for our local Peculiar Treasures club. We meet monthly for book discussion (Robin Jones Gunn books), games, fellowship and time to grow together in our walk as "God Lovers" and "Peculiar Treasures" (Exodus 19:5 Now therefore, if ye will obey my voice indeed, and keep my covenant, then ye shall be a peculiar treasure unto me above all people: for all the earth is mine:)

As a service to others, I have decided to post our discussion questions for you to use. Look in the side bar for links to the questions. Check back each month as I will add books as we get to them. Just a warning, the questions include many spoilers if you haven't already read the books. So, if you don't want the story line spoiled for you, please read the books before you look at the questions!! I hope you find them helpful!
Feel free to add any additional questions that you think of to our comment boxes.

Discussion for Summer Promise

When our group discussed Summer Promise, we used the questions from the Focus on the Family "Thriving Family" site. You can find those questions HERE. We added a few questions of our own, but the questions at that site are a pretty good start.

Here are questions that we added:

What do you think about Todd continuing to hang out with his surfer friends who aren't Christians?

What did you think of Todd's story about getting to heaven? What it helpful to you? Do you think it was a pretty accurate description?

We also discussed the relationship between Christy and Tracy and why Christy felt jealous of Tracy, Bob and Marti's philosophy of life and how they responded to Shawn's accident. We discussed how Christy handled what happened at the party and what we should do in a similar situation. And as always, we discussed our favorite and least favorite parts of the book and which characters we most related to or liked best. Sorry I don't have questions for those topics written out. I just jotted down ideas for discussion on a print out of the Focus on the Family questions. But, these should help you get started!
